The Helbiz project is built on 3 principle areas, which are Blockchain technology, smartphone lock hardware, cloud servers, smart contracts. The main mission is to allow users to rent out their cars, without the need for exchanging keys or emails. The teams head of product is Milos Citakovic

HBZ Functionality.

Through the platform, users can rent out their cars by selecting the model of the vehicle which will be rented out, upload images, and setting a rental price and availability terms. Car owners can then establish additional conditions such as driving history requirements, age restrictions, HBZ scores, credit scores, minimum insurance coverage. After a car is listed on HBZ, a representative from Helbiz will come and install a HBZ software lock on the respective vehicle.

Once a car is in the HBZ system, users can rent a vehicle out and it will be returned directly to their driveway, without the need to communicate with anyone or hassles. Users are paid out through PayPAl, Wire, or through the Helbiz coin.

All user identities are screened and verified by Helbiz. Additionally, facial scans or fingerprint identification is required in order for a driver’s identity to be verified. HBZ devices allow for data pertaining to fuel use, internal systems, driving behavior, speeds, routes and other interesting things to be logged and tracked.

HBZ is currently working on a payment layer that will allow for totally decentralized P2P payments to be executed on a Blockchain, as well as escrow services for renters and owners. Users also have the choice of selling their driving data to third parties for HBZ tokens.
